Abdul Abdullahi concentrates his practice on intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patent matters.Abdul has experience advising clients and foreign associates on various issues associated with intellectual property law, including licenses involving open source software, subject matter eligibility in the post-Alice era, prior commercial use defense under 35 U.S.C. § 273, virtual marking in post-AIA era, interference proceedings, and protection of semiconductors using mask work protection under 17 U.S.C. §§ 901-904, etc.He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (“WIPO”) in several technology areas, including social networking systems, audio driver technology, data transmission networks for musical instruments, data storage systems, computer networking systems, selective visual display systems, and semiconductor device manufacturing processes, etc.Abdul has also prepared end user license agreements, and conducted compliance reviews of open source software disclosures.During law school, Abdul was a published member and associate editor of the Journal of Law, Technology &amp; Policy. He has two undergraduate degrees—a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and a B.B.A. in International Business.Abdul previously served as an extern to Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman in the Federal District Court, Southern District of Florida.
